Q: Where are you located?
A: Dallas Fort Worth and surrounding areas.
Q: Do you travel for shoots?
A: Yes. Since many of our clients have different destinations for the location of their shoot. The Client will pay a traveling fee and in some cases Hotel fees for the event.
Q: When can we meet?
A: We can meet during the week. Weekends are prime shooting days.
Q: How early should I reserve my date with you?
A: For weddings at least 8-12 months in advance. Keep in mind that May-October booked very quickly. Sometimes there is availablity less than 8 months away. It is always worth checking. For all other sessions as soon as possible to get a desired date.
Q: Is there a sales tax?
A: Yes, the state tax is charged for each session
Q: Have you shot at my wedding venue before?
A: This is a common question in which is asked by many. Sometimes I can answer yes to this question. Although, if I have not I have enough experience to adapt to any venue location. We also tend to do "homework" on the venue prior to doing a shoot.
Q: How long will it take to receive my photos?
A: A simple gallery of your photos will be available 3 weeks after your wedding. The remainder of the photographs will be edited and complete within 8-10 weeks from your wedding date. For all other shoots a turnaround for your photos is about 1-3 weeksof edited images. All photographs on your CD are edited, high resolution JPEG files.
Q: Can I share my photos online i.e Facebook?
A: Yes! Please remember to link www.varelastudios.net to the photos, never crop out the watermark of the photos, do not enhance or change the photograph in anyway without the photographer's permission.
Q: Do I own the rights to my digital files?
A: You have the rights to the personal use of your images. This means you can print them, post them on Facebook (as long as you link Varela Studios to the images), or use them for Save the Date cards. We maintain the copyright as the creators of the imagery. This means we reserve the right to authorize where the images can and cannot be used publicly. Please note that it is illegal to right click or screen shot online gallery images or other images featured on this site, make copies from the prints, sell, or alter images received in CD or print format. Q: How would you describe your photography style?

A: We shoot digital
Q: I'm having a religious ceremony. Are you familiar with the events that take place?
A: We have photographed many different types of weddings. We've documented Catholic, Christian, and Hindu ceremonies. If you are having a ceremony which is not listed here we would love to learn all about the customs and events.
Q: What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?
A: We understand that not everything will go as planned. We never pack up before the contracted time. We are not leaving on the dot when the contracted time is up. We will ask you at the end of your contracted time if you would liek to extend. If you would like us to stay, we will charge the rates specified in your contract rounded to the closest 15 minute increment.
Q: How many hours do you suggest we set aside for wedding day photo's?
A: The amount of time taken will depend on the time of day as well as the weather.
Preparation shots: 1hr 1/2 (45 minutes for the ladies and 45 minutes for the men)
Couples session: 1 hour to 1hr 1/2 - it is recommended that this is done before the ceremony as you can enjoy the rest of you day without worrying about photo's. Also your makeup and hair is fresh at this time. Make sure we get at least a full hour to capture your amazing photo's.
Family Formals: 1 hour - Please have a list of pictures that you would like taken with your family and friends right after the ceremony is finished. This is usually doen at the altar but we can do these at any location that you would like. Have one person from each side of the family who is really organized to help move people in and out of the photo's.
Q: What do you mean by touching up?
A: "Touching up" means the removal of blemishes, removal of bags under the eyes, removal of fly-away hairs, etc. This is anything that includes extensive work in Photoshop such as removing objects from a scene, adding objects to a scene, and other custom work. We charge hourly for the custom post production, as the time will range depending on the complexity of the project. Please contact Nicole for a quote for custom post production work.
Q: When do you suggest we do out engagement session?
A: We encourage you do your engagement session as soon as possible. 8 weeks prior to the weding due date would be the latest. Allowing 4 weeks for post production and 4 weeks to order your prints. Because most weddings are on the weekend, engagement sessions are shot during the week. If you can only do your engagement session on a weekend then an extra fee of $150 will be charged. We also like to shoot on weekdays because locations are less crowded.
Q: I really like when you Photoshop our name and date into the save-the-dates, is that included in the package pricing?
A: Custom save-the-date images are priced at $100 per image
Q: When and where can we view our pictures?
A: There will be a gallery of your images on the website. I will end you an email of the link so that you may view your photos. These images will be done about 4 weeks after the date of your shoot. A rush process is available for $100 unless other terms were discussed. The image CD will be sent out the first day of the fifth week.
Q: How many images will I get from my shoot?
A: We typically deliver up to 30 images per hour for each shoot and for weddings we typically deliver about 30-50 images an hour.
Q: What size can I print my photo's up to?
A: In most cases, you will be able to make your print's up to 20X30 without any quality loss.
Q: What if I lose my image CD?
A: There is a replacement fee of $50. We suggest that you make a copy for yourself as soon as you recieve it from us.
Q: How do I reserve my date?
A: All dates are reserved once we receive your signed contract and 50% deposit.
Q: If I cancel our shoot will I receive my deposit back?
A: Unfortunatley no. Deposits are used to reserve your date. Once we have reserved your date we do not accept new clients for your date.
Q: If I change my shoot date to a different date, can I use my deposit towards a future date?
A: Yes. Although, if rates have changed from your original date to your new date, the new rates will apply.
